Two Exciting Opportunities!

We have two librarian positions that we need to fill.  See the Employment Opportunities section of our site for more information.

Centre County Reads 2013: Caramelo

The 2013 Centre County Reads reading selection is Caramelo by Sandra Cisneros. With our partner organization, the Center for American Literary Studies at Penn State, we have an exciting programming season planned, concluding with an appearance by Sandra Cisneros at the State Theatre on Monday, April 15 at 7 p.m.!  We'll kick off with a Mexican Fiesta at Schlow Library on March 16, teach you the craft of Papel Picado (Mexican Papercutting) at the Bellefonte Art Museum on April 6 and 7, feature a literary panel discussion, give you the chance to show off your writing skills in the Caramelo Writing Contest, and of course offer many book discussion groups around the county.

Copies of the book will be available for checkout at Schlow Centre Region Library and the Centre County Library, and will be sold at Barnes and Noble State College. Please visit www.centrecountyreads.org for more information.
